Where to find The Stitching Bee

Where is The Stitching Bee? The cross stitch shop is located in Green Bay Wisconsin. It is a house filled with counted cross stitch. There is only one person who runs it and works there. The shop is blessed with lots of help from special Stitcher's. But as only one person social media is a difficult problem.
I was recently  told only old people run brick and mortar shops and the reason we are failing is because we are not up on social media.
This has bothered me- as a one person business my time is spent in many ways. I have had a web site, blog but have found face book a better place to spend my time. The Stitching Bee also has, twitter, instagram and has considered doing floss tube. If I do it will be call Bee Hive but I'm not sure there are enough hours to do that.
Please support your local cross stitch shop! Thank you Pricilla and Chelsea for supporting The Stitching Bee!

What's New

Blogging ~ another social media thing I'm terrible at. I recently received a call asking if I was still open? Yes I have been for almost 21 years. The woman said " You last wrote on you website in 2011. Social media???? What to do? I find face book the easiest avenue to do besides running a shop. So if you find The Stitching Bee via website or my blog please go to face book and find out what is NEW!  Also on face book is a private group called the Worker Bees which allows only stitchers who ask to be in our private group to post and view. We are having great fun! Last week we did throw back Thursday. The worker bees is a group were we show finished projects and projects in the works. You can ask question or talk about stitching things! Of course you can do that on my face book page where I am 3 short of 500 viewers! It would be fantastic to make it to 500 or more!  The Stitching Bee also has a weekly Newsletter! Keep Stitching  ~ Kendra

19 years of Business!

The Stitching Bee has been up and running for 19 years. I could not have done it with out the support of my family, friends and stitchers. Many thanks for all you have done.
                                                               The future of The Bee!
The cross stitch business is changing. I have been outspoken on this subject because I feel it may cause my business to close. Designers  and distributors are doing Exclusive clubs and kits which are not available to every shop. That means I can not get the kit for myself or my stitchers. This is driving my customer's to other shops. And we are not talking a $8 dollar patterns, we are talking a $50 kit. Will The Bee be able to survive?
Wouldn't it be nice if the cross stitch business would be fair? I so much would like to meet the needs of my stitchers. I would like to stay in business. I love the creativity of  cross stitching and the wonderful projects people stitch. Hopefully, things will change but we don't know the future of cross stitching or The Bee.

Feeling extremely lucky!

This week has been busy with changing the shop around to Halloween. As many models come off the wall to make room for the spooky ones, I can only admire all the wonderful stitching. We are very Lucky at The Stitching Bee to have so many talented Stitchers share their work with all of us! The Bee is such a better place because of you!
